Day 428 – Malaysia 🇲🇾 Kuala Lumpur, Marathon 122 — 45 laps, 30 miles and huge humidity. — I’ve always wanted to the see the Petronas Towers and today I saw them for 5 sweaty hours over and over again. I could have found so many great running routes around the city but for simplicity and ease of access to water I decided to stick to a run around the KLCC Park. This park is so well kept, has a nice spongy 1.2km track and is full of tourists wanting to take photos of the towers. I chatted to locals as I ran and generally had a great time till the sun came up. I was even stopped by a few on lookers who wanted photos. — The heat and humidity increased and I started to wish id woken up an hour early. After yesterdays late night though, this was not happening. If you’re a runner and happen to visit KL then the route today is great. Early on there were hundreds of runners all running the same way. Just like a race, except its free, beautiful and no need to get a race number, just plenty of sun cream. The route isn’t flat, although it appears so for the first few laps. It soon starts to feel rolling. There are 4 sections for water each with 4 water fountains. Top Tip: the only foundation with any decent pressure is in the far west corner. The rest are dribbles. — Many of you have asked how I measure the distance when I run on my own. And how do I verify that I have run a full distance. The answer is simple. Lots and lots of rules stimulated by Guinness World Records. It’s the bane of my life to be honest. I have a 29 page document with hundreds of rules and regulations that are virtually impossible to abide by but I do my best. For each marathon distance I must have watch GPS data, witnesses along the route, photos, videos and geo data. I also roughly understand the distance on a map to be trippily sure. Along with all the other bits and pieces. — The witnesses are sometimes harder than others; especially in countries that don’t speak English. I stopped a few times for witnesses along the way as usual and made some new friends. Great people here. — #traveller, #travellersclub, #travellerphoto, #run #runner #travelleroflight, #travellersplanet #petronastowers #klccpark

Day 213 – Swaziland 🇸🇿 – Marathon 63 – 382 marathons, European Dates, and ways to get involved. – Completed my 382nd all time marathon today. My 63rd time running 26.2 miles this year. By the end of the year I should have completed 💯 marathons as part of this expedition, one for each and every country I’ve been to so far. A marathon every 3.5 days for the rest of the year. Next year will get even tighter. Travel, Run, Rest, Travel, Run, Rest Repeat. – Everyone always asks about my knees; or how I stay injury free; if I’m honest I don’t really do anything or really know why I’m no hurting more. I suppose the answer is practice and perseverance. Having run with broken bones in the desert, vomiting every few miles on a rainy day in Eton Dawny, or being chased by dogs up a mountain in Bolivia; we are the sum of our efforts. Just practice I guess. In the words of Mo Farah, if you want to do something better, do it more. – But to answer ‘are my knees ok?’ Yes, they are a little screwed from lots of skiing and various falls; and such my cartilage isn’t all there, but the question shouldn’t be about the body. My mind is what I’ve had to train the most, and am still doing so. It’s only going to get tougher. – Reminder – EUROPEAN – PHASE 1 -DATES! – These are the dates I arrive in each country! – 30/08 – Spain 🇪🇸 Barcelona 01/09 – Andorra 🇦🇩 Andorra 03/09 – France 🇫🇷 Nice 06/09 – Monaco 🇲🇨 Monte Carlo 07/09 – Vatican City ⛪️ Vatican City 09/09 – Italy 🇮🇹 Rome 12/09 – San Marino 🇸🇲 San Marino 13/09 – Germany 🇩🇪 Berlin 18/09 – Czech Republic 🇨🇿 Prague 20/09 – Austria 🇦🇹 Vienna 22/09 – Slovakia 🇸🇰 Bratislava 24/09 – Hungary 🇭🇺 Budapest – You can help in 4 ways: – 1. Come and run with me 2. Give me a place to sleep 3. Ask your friends to help me 4. Sponsor a marathon – If you want to get involved please comment or tag someone that can help. My email address is [email protected] – Thanks for the support everyone. On to country 64 tomorrow; Mauritius 🇲🇺. – TEXT NRTW89 £5 to 70070 – #running #runner #training #run #runnersofinstagram #hotguys #adventure #prostatecancer #tired #marathonman #ultra #runningtheworld196 #endurance #runningman #love
